Fukuoka : 13th April 08 - Tenjin

Weekdays are filled with work up to at least 8pm. Well, not many places that I can go after work because the shops here close as early as 9pm though. So, my frequent place is the 100 yen (RM3) shop or Yodobashi. Most items in 100 yen shop are basically priced at 100 yen though some are at 200 yen while Yodobashi is the place to shop for varieties of electrical/electronic products. It was only during weekends (hey, i worked OT on Sat too but can leave at 530pm) that I could venture further on foot to the city.

The heart of the city, Tenjin, is accessible by foot from office in 20 minutes. The city is worth walking because there are so many different views at the turn of every corner. In my point of view, the city is well planned with wide pathway for pedestrian, cyclist and even the blind....City area is very wide and not concentrated in only one area like the one we have in JB (City Square). Cool of the night added to the excitement. The sights and sound of the city were pretty amazing.

Tenjin offers numerous shopping areas. The city is filled with rows of skyscrapers, lit up by neon advertisement boards. It was just so similar to the cities we usually watched on TV shows.

Surprisingly, there are parks in the midst of the city.......as seen above

Fukuoka city is well connected by a separate subway running below the city itself. One has the option to purchase a one-day pass of 600 yen of unlimited ride. There is the infamous underground shopping alley at Tenjin station. It is a subway station with a shopping facility. However, the prize of items sold here are too high a standard though. Nevertheless, it is worth visiting the place because of its shopping atmosphere. As a matter of fact, most the shops are selling ladies stuff. So, ladies, self-control is very important and helpful. Kalau tak, poket kosong......

Accessories sold in one of the shops.............

This shop has a unique setting of a ballroom feel as its frontage. Actually you can zoom to see the prize of the items in the picture below.

Oh, have to stop here. I do not want to activate the shopping 'itch' too much. I think some of you already thinking of going to Tenjin now......haha

Next up will be Yatai, as Malaysian dubbed as "mamak" stalls area in Japan. See ya.
